Stone Chip Paint Touch-Ups

The front of our cars takes a real hammering with stone chips being common place on kiwi cars. A bonnet speckled with stone chips can be a real eyesore on what is otherwise a great, tidy looking car. We can take care of that! We will visit you at your place of convenience, touch up those unsightly paint chips and even leave you with a complimentary pot of colour matched paint should you ever need it in the future!

What type of scratches can be touched up?

Oxidised, faded/dull paint, water spots, scratches & swirl marks (holograms). We can also successfully remove paint overspray, metal shavings, various adhesives such as signwriting residue, road tar and other ‘hard to remove’ contaminants like sunscreen. We specialise in working with commercial clients to safely remove contaminants from cars near work sites that have been accidentally affected, offering a friendly approach to keep everyone happy.

* If the clear coat is peeling, we are unable to repair this as it will need repainting.

The significance of stone chip removal during resale

Stone chip removal plays a pivotal role in enhancing a vehicle’s resale value. Potential buyers often scrutinize a car’s exterior condition, and the presence of unsightly stone chips and scratches can significantly diminish its appeal. By investing in professional stone chip removal, sellers not only restore the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal but also demonstrate a commitment to its overall upkeep. A well-maintained exterior suggests that the vehicle has been cared for meticulously, instilling confidence in potential buyers regarding its overall condition. This can translate into a higher resale value, as buyers are often willing to pay more for a vehicle that appears well-maintained and free from visible imperfections. In essence, stone chip removal is not just about aesthetics; it’s a strategic step in maximizing the return on investment when selling a car.

Why choose a paint touch up instead of a respray?

  • Cost-Effective: Paint touch-ups are generally more budget-friendly compared to a full respray. They allow you to address specific areas of damage without the expense of repainting the entire vehicle.
  • Time-Saving: Touching up paint chips and minor scratches is a quicker process than a full respray. You will have your car back within a couple of hours, minimizing disruption to your daily life.
  • Preserve Original Finish: A full respray can alter the original factory finish of your car, which may affect its authenticity and potentially its resale value. Touch-ups help maintain the original paintwork while addressing localized imperfections.
  • Insurance Deductibles: If you’re covering the cost yourself rather than filing an insurance claim, a touch-up is often well below the deductible threshold, making it a more cost-effective choice.
  • Prevent Further Damage: Promptly addressing stone chips and scratches through touch-up work can prevent further deterioration and rust, preserving the integrity of the vehicle’s body.

-We don’t cut corners – it’s about quality-

However, it’s essential to note that paint touch-ups are not suitable for all situations. If your vehicle has extensive damage or significant rust issues, a full respray may be the more practical and effective solution to restore its appearance and protect it from further deterioration. All paint touch up inquireies require photos so we can assess your situation to ensure we provide you with the best options.

Is our cut and polish service the cheapest?

No. Our focus is not on providing the cheapest car detailing service – our focus is on providing the best results, that equates to true value for money. Often our customers have come to us after they’ve had their vehicle polished by another company, and are disappointed with the substandard result. If you want a quick cover-up job done on your car’s paint – we’re not the right fit for you. However, if you want the job done right, first time – then we look forward to hearing from you.

How does the car detailing process work?

We drive to you at home, or your workplace (wherever is convenient), and can complete the job in your garage, or (in most weather) driveway using our marquees as shelter. Depending on the required outcome, and condition of the vehicle, we utilise a 2 to 4 step process that begins by removing scratches and imperfections, and ends with a high-shine wax that will protect your car and leave you amazed.

Is the process safe for your car?

Yes. As per above.. the tools and products we use are the best in the business. We don't source our products from retail stores like Repco, which is why we can offer a higher standard of work. We leave no holograms / swirl marks and take care to preserve and protect your vehicles clear coat.

Do I need to be home to have the work done?

Not at all. We can arrange for your vehicle to be parked outside on your driveway or in a car port / garage where we can carry out the requested work while you are out. We'll then email an invoice to you - so there's no need to make it back to see us before we leave! How easy is that?
